I was induced and had a not so great experience but everyone is different. Plus 12 months on i'm 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd, so if it was so bad we wouldn't do it again right ;)
It took 3 days , 6 sweeps, 2 pessaries and one lot of gel to get things started, so it's not always a fast process.but I think i was very unlucky. The contractions were strong from the start and so close together. but i managed to have no pain relief except gas and air until 7cm. I let that wear off so I could feel for pushing (feeling everything whilst pushing helps you know that you're pushing properly. Reduces the risk of an emergency c-section) Enjoy this weekend, rest lots, pamper yourself, because once baby is here you'll be tired. Have lots of YOU time, and read about induction of labour. What method are they inducing you with. Don't worry, honestly, any labour is painful but it's so worth it and you suprise yourself at how strong you are and how much pain you can cope with, you forget about it all when you hold your baby. so be excited, not nervous :D good luck
I was also induce on my 1st pregnancy... Everything went so smooth because I had read a lot of info on induce labor etc... So during ur weekend try to enjoy, relax, go online read as much as u can on an induce labor, medicines, epidural etc... Prepare yourself mentally and emotionally as much as you can, don't be nervous... Best of luck!!!
Can't really answer how fast it will go but they will start with an.iv to start the potocin and like every 20 min they will up the amount.your.contractions will get stronger as they up it. I was on potocin for 11 hrs before I got my epi. Good.luck to u.
