JUST SAY NO (to leashes)
:)
I have one for my two year old daughter for when we are in large places. She likes it cuz it looks like a puppy backpack and I like it because she has the independence to walk on her own while I feel safe knowing she isn't going to run away or get stolen. I've got my eye on a monkey one for baby number two :)
my husband and i are against them. we have a three year old and holding hands works for us. i feel that holding hands creates a better bond between the two. you can anticipate their movements cause you can feel it. i just find it more personal.
you can always get one and try it out and see how it works for you though.
Like I stated before, some of us have rather large children who are unable to fit in strollers or be carried. A leash is a better option for some parents.
PS when kids are small they have shorter attention spans and even after drilling it in their heads to wait before crossing a street doesnt mean anything! My mom works in a pharmacy on mainstreet and has seen SO MANY kids run when that door opens and small children are very easy to be missed by vehicles till its too late... my one friend hit one of these kids, it didnt mean the mom was a bad mom by any means the child just doesnt have the ability to truly understand whats at risk... thank god this childs only injury was a broken leg as it could have been so much worse!!
I have never used any w my kids. And don't plan on it. Like u said it is a leash..lol. I wouldn't wanna b on a leash. I would just put them in a stroller or carry them in crowds.
