I recently threw a baby shower for my SIL and she didn't want games. So we just had a great time eating food and visiting. Then she opened gifts and everyone left. Sometimes the momma is just so tired that she'd rather have a short, simple party. I'd see what she wants to do.
If she does want some games there's TONS! You can google "baby shower games" and you'll get thousands of games.
I just had my baby shower last saturday, and we didn't play any games. Our baby shower was co-ed, so we had guys and gals alike there. It was 3.5 hours long and we all just socialized and enjoyed each others company and there were over 20 people there. It was a gorgeous day out and very warm so we all sat out on the deck, chatted, and ate. It was a wonderful time! I am very happy with the turn out. And keep in mind, it usually takes an hour, give or take, to open gifts, etc. So do whatever you want at your baby shower. I enjoyed playing some of the games at other peoples baby showers, but I really wasn't into them for my baby shower.
But enjoy yourself! :)
You can do a cookout with couples invited and have appetizers and cocktails, that's what we are planning to do. We are not doing any games. And I guess at some point we will open the presents.
me and my family and friends played poker :) also since its so nice out maybe have a cookout with some music. Games are just tradition umm...you could get a movie and everyone has to pay with a pack of diapers. If its close to july you can get some fireworks. Theres tons of stuff to do you just have to be creative and figure out what you like to do.
You dont have to but I love playing games at showers, it makes it fun! I went to a shower a couple weeks ago with no games and we basically all just sat around talking. I felt like the mom to be wasn't the center of attention cause people we segregated in their own little groups talking.
You could decorate onsies as an activity. Other than that I dont have many ideas.
