breastfeeding is nasty??

Not judging, just saying. I was talking to my cousin, (I'm 23, she is 28). And I was reeking her that I breastfed my son and I plan to do the same for my daughter. She was like really?? That is so nasty to me. Especially for girls.....??? I was like well it's a natural part of life and it was the only way to feed a newborn for the longest. She was like she would pump if it didn't take so long but she will never latch her baby on her breast because it feels nasty.
Here is my take. This world makes everything so nasty and tabboo. When actually some things are as normal as a plant growing into a tree. I feel like the women and men who find breastfeeding disgusting are so used to a woman's body being overly sexualized by society. Women get plastered all over TV with boob and booty showing, but you rarely see a guy showing some balls or penis. To me, this world is slowly crumbling.
In no way am I bashing anyone who chooses not to breastfed, I'm just appalled by the things we register as  nasty. Anything could happen at any time. And if formula was somehow tainted and could not be used for months until they figured out what was happening to it, some mothers would have NO way to feed their baby because their milk would be gone...when we are equipped to be able to feed baby at the drop of a dime.

Before the time of formula all us women had was our breast to feed our children when they were first born. I'm breastfeeding and I don't care what anyone says. Its natural and ancient for women to breastfeed their baby or babies. Some people are so ignorant on things it annoys me.

All I have to say, to any woman is, if you're comfortable having your significant other latch you, you should be comfortable at least trying to nourish your baby. Disagree, it's okay. Just an opinion.

Agreed. I got bashed for feeding past a certain age let alone breastfeeding in general. I wish America had views like some other places where its the norm to breastfeed especially out in public without getting harassed about it. I'm not going to bash someone on formula feeding or for pumping so I shouldnt get bashed for feeding my baby from the tap.

I have to agree... the world today think of breast as a sexual tool.. and not something that is natural and ment for feeding infants. Honestly I think that breast feeding is the way to go. But people have their own veiws of it. I would never think it is gross in anyway. I think it is a beautiful process and those who do breast feed are very strong women. You shouldnt let others opinions cliud your judgement on what you think is right and wrong. It is definently.
I plan on breast feeding but I also plan on pumping as well so my baby daddy gets the bonding time as well with our son.
But like others say to each their own. And please just don't judge the people who are close to you because of their decision about how to raise their kid. You can make your own decisions when you have a child of your own. Be supportive.
Good luck mamas. And congrats on the babies :)
