If you can get past first couple days its gets easier. I had no problems with my first latching. My boobs got really swollen and wouldn't release milk so I ended up back at docs. She simply put really warm wet towels on my chest/boobs and I turned into a hose! After that it was easy. Use the lanolin cream a lot and don't be afraid of pump if you have one! It is very rewarding.
I had a little bit of trouble with my daughter the first two or three days but she finally got the hang of it, and so did I. All I can say is be patient and don't give up. It shouldn't hurt unless baby is attached wrong or if you don't keep your nipples moisturized.. Mine started to bleed because of it ): but just hang in there - it's all worth it and an amazing bonding experience.
It takes sometime 2 get use 2 and hurts a little but its totally worth it. U'll also get stomache cramps the first few times cuz its ur uterus going back 2 normal and it will my ur stomache smaller faster. Just try 2 relax and enjoy the bonding time with ur baby
Don't beat yourself up if it doesn't go perfectly. It is not a lways that easy. I ended up pumping & bottle feeding because my son would not stay awake. I decided that for me the most important thing was that he got breastmilk in some form. I ignored the lactation consultants & felt a lot better.
