How do you know..??

If you r getting pains how do you know if its contractions or baxton hicks?
I am 33weeks and I dont no wat to look out for i have been getting pains for the last 3nights now and dont no wat to think

This post helped me... it hasn't happens for an hour but I think I was pretum lab or or something cuz I could time my severe pains they were 5mins long 20mins apart n during the time spaced apart my baby kicked a lot... I'm 1 day shy of being 23w this is my first pregnancy n I'm seriously scared **** less.. it started last night n last night was the worst I've had 3 today n 2 last night b4 bed...

Also try timing them because Braxton hicks are inconsistent which means they will not be back to back like contractions! Contractions can be timed up to 20 mins apart down to a minute apart! If it's 6-7 mins apart you need to go to labor and delivery!

Braxton hicks-stomach gets hard but with no pain to very mild cramping!
Contractions-stomach gets hard with mild to severe cramping! Just go with how your body feels! You will know when it's real! If you have to question it it's probably just Braxton hicks!
I was always asking myself is this it? With my first pregnancy but when I had contractions I just knew something was different!!:) hope this helps!
