Keep it simple. Onsies, sleepers, bibs, burp rags, hats, a pack n play playpen/sleeper, a simple swing, wait to get bottles until the baby comes because they all like different ones depending on the nipple, a night light, variety diaper sizes moslty 1~3, a few newborns, car seat, stroller, non scented wash gel, wash rags and towel for baby, swaddling blankets, a few variety sized blankets....lol. i think thats it!

Hi there.  Well you are almost there!!  YEAH!!

When it comes to baby stuff, many women have their own list of favorites that can differ from the next person.  So, I'll just give you my things that I loved and HAD to have knowing that others may have things that They felt were best.

Someplace for baby to sleep.  I had a bassinet.  Loved it.  The crib seemed so big for that tiny baby and I could put the bassinet right by my bed if I wanted.  I also had a Moses basket which I really liked because if baby fell asleep, I could put the baby in that and then move him to the basket and move the basket where I wanted.  It was actually really awesome with my second son because my first was one when I had number two so we were on the go.  Baby number two would doze off and I could slip him into the moses basket and could keep playing with number one.  Loved that.

A cute diaper bag.  You will carry that thing everywhere so pick one you really like.

Car seat.  The infant carrier is awesome because it can just hook in and out of your car rather than the stationary infant car seats that stay in the car.  Then you can get two car bases, one infant carrier and use in your car and your partner's car.  AND, then you want it to hook into a stroller.  They sell them together ----  car seat and stroller combo.  Loved it.

Lots of unused cloth diapers for burp cloths.

A bouncy seat.  Oh, this saved me---  making dinner?  Put baby in bouncy seat and they are happy.  A must have.  And I liked the ones that have a vibrate function.

A swing.  So nice to be hands free and having a swing is great.

An entertainment thing they lay under.  What are those called again?  I would put down a blanket and put that over them at around 3 months and they loved it. they'd only stay under it for like 15 minutes but it was stimulating for them and I was hands free for 15 minutes.  My sister and friends loaned me theirs to use and so I had a few of them and I'd set them up like stations and rotate my sons through them at different times during the day.

A good camera.  You'll want to take lots of pictures.

A baby monitor.  While it took me a bit to get used to it, it was invaluable especially as time went on.

A pack n play---  helpful if you go to visit anyone.

A baby medical kit with a thermometer, hair brush, nail file, nail scissors, etc.  And a book on what's normal for babies.

Flannel swaddling blankets.  Even though it is August when you have your baby, infants like to be wrapped tight and it helps them relax.  Think of how scrunched up in the womb they are----  swaddling makes them feel safe and it is familiar.  helped my kids sleep.

pacifiers if you are going that route.

Such fun---  wishing you all the best!
