diapers for only ONE child now!!!

Yay!! My little boy just turned two a few weeks ago & im so excited to say I've officially had him potty trained for 3 weeks now!!! He is so smart. & he LOVES to go potty. He gets so excited to run to the bathroom, & hop up on the big boy seat. I was hoping to have him trained by the time the new baby arrives (In 12 days lol) so we started trying in February. Took him almost no time. Guess he was definitely ready.  Now i will only have one child in diapers. What a relief lol. I just had to share. :)

I was told to not even use pull ups. That they confuse them. I just don't give him anything to drink an hour & a half before bedtime & make him go right before he lays down & he hasn't had an accident yet.  KNOCK ON WOOD lol. But he had woke up early mornings when im getting my oldest off to school & I take him potty & he falls right back to sleep. I think that seems to be helping also. I guess routine has been key with my son. & Geekmom I've heard that also but hopefully we won't have that problem. Guess I'll Just cross that bridge if I come to it. Lol

Yay! Same here.  I had my 2yr old potty trained when my second baby was born. No more diapers,  but hello pull-ups lol for those night time accidents.  This time around I'll still have one in diapers when #3 gets here in August.  :( lol

You are so lucky!  My first two were super easy potty trainers with my daughter completely trained by two and my son mostly trained by two but my third is 27mths and not interested at all in using the potty. She hates her big girl underwear and won't even sit on the potty except every now and then. I had hoped to have her trained before the new baby I'm not forcing it.

Don't be surprised or discouraged if he regresses when the baby arrives. Totally normal and expected especially since this is a brand new skill for him so close to your due date. The stress and jealousy of having a new sibling makes many kids, even those who have been trained for quite a while, regress for a while.

Bought him a potty chair, a bunch of big boy underwear & for the first few days put the undies on him & literally asked him if he had to potty every 25-30 mins. ALL DAY lol for like 3 days.  Once he understood the sensation of having to pee I didn't have to ask anymore.  He would just say "mommy pee pee" lol or tell me he had to go #2. I was surprised how easy it actually was. My oldest son was potty trained at 15 months.  He took an interest quick & followed everyone to the bathroom lol & just kinda taught himself so I was thinking it would take FOREVER for my second to catch on. Thankfully that wasn't the case.

Was there a certain process you did too have him potty trained? I'm looking to potty train my son soon...he'll be two in November.
