Like. Others have said she is just giving advice just say OK and then decide what you want to do.  The only reason I would think to get new ones would be of you have tight pj's and they would make you uncomfortable after having the baby.  Or if you have to have a c section. Then you really wouldn't want anything to tight rubbing on your stomach

Shoot "when our daughter was little, she slept on the outside, so that she was only next to me "

I'm planning on getting a Co-sleeper like the arms reach, only because my 3 year old still ends up in my bed most early mornings (3am-5am). I want our new baby to learn how to sleep on her own early on because, although I love my snuggles from my girl, I undoubtedly sleep better alone (husband works nights.)

As far as sleeping with your baby goes, I think it totally depends on what kind of sleeper you are. I'm a SUPER light sleeper. Lights turning on wake me up, so I was hyper aware of my daughter. My husband isn't the same, so when put daughter

We used the arms reach Co-sleeper crib that attaches to the bed till my son was 7 months. Then he moved into his own room and crib.

You are going to get A LOT of unsolicited advice from well meaning friends and family (or random strangers). Just listen and ignore the bad/irrelevant  advice and keep the good stuff.

I breastfed my daughter and kept her crib in my bedroom with me until she was around 3 months old and not waking up so many times to eat in the middle of the night. You are her mommy so definitely go with what makes you and your baby happy.

I don't the one we are getting is actually one that my dad and his twin used when they were little. I don't know if they make them anymore. It is pretty much a miniature version of the actual crib. Its even wooden. I am sure you could Google it and find something. Or a pack n play would work to.  This is just smaller.

Were getting what is called a one year crib from my dad and will be using that in our room for the first few months and I plan during the day when im home and not sleeping to put the baby in its crib so it is used to sleeping in there when we move it to the crib later on.

Everyone told me not to put my kids in the bed with me, they are now two and one and both sleep on their own perfectly fine. With my first I always slept with him right next to me not between me and his dad cause his dads a heavy sleeper and I was afraid he'd forget the baby was in the bed with us. I became a very light sleeper when my son was born and any change in his breathing or tiny sniffle or anything I was wide awake. They also have these wedge pillows that I got to put him on in the bed and they have like arms on either side so he can't roll off and that worked awesome they also have bassenetts you put in your bed lol and the wedge pillow is good even if you decided to put baby in its own bed so if they spit up they don't swallow it or choke on it (but in its own bed you can also pit a pillow or rolled up blanket or towel UNDER the head of the mattress and it works the same.

I was going to put my baby in the bassinet but my hubby and I learned we can't be that far apart from him at night.  We bought this sleeper bassinet that lays in your bed in the middle of us.  It is God sent!  The only place we have seen it is babies r us.  Its like sleeping right next to him without the fear of rolling over on him.

There are actually these bed things idk what they are called maybe someone else will know? But anyway you can strap it to your bed some how my understanding you put out between the mattress and box springs but its like a little bed that sits on the side of yours. That way they are in arms reach but not in the actual bed with you. (:

my baby slept in the room with us, but in the bassinet for the first 3 months or so, we still have the crib in our bedroom where my baby sleeps and my child is 1 now and still sometimes sleeps in the bed with DH & i. Tell your aunt to buzz off!

My answer only pertains to if baby sleeps in the bed with you. I may have misread what you are saying. I don't know anyone that doesn't sleep in the same room as their infant for the first few months.

The only reason why I agree with you aunt about the baby not sleeping with you even though I know many women do it, is because my mom did with me and she rolled over on me not realizing. My cry was muffled to where she didn't here and wasn't loud enough to wake up her from exhaustion. My sister and her boyfriend had just came home and her boyfriend barely heard me and knew something wasn't right. Do you have a bassinet you could put next to the bed? I would suggest that and not take the risk of falling into a deep sleep from exhaustion and rolling on your little one.

Uuuuuuuuggghhhh I can't imagine breastfeeding, having my baby in a whole different room, and having to make all those trips every single night lol.
Baby in your room in a bassinet is perfectly fine :-P  people have been doing it for years.

Just ignore her. You are the momma...you know best. People will have their opinions on everything, doesn't mean they're right.
I have an Aunt that is quite opinionated....I'll just nod my head or say uh huh and move on!! LOL
