I think dogs sense it, I'm 18 weeks and my Chihuahua lays next to me with his head on top of my belly and when anyone tries to touch my belly he starts growling and doesn't let nobody touch me.
I have 3 pit bulls. one is a red nose shes 6 yrs old another he's 1and a razor edge and then my 6 month old puppy and he's a eli pit and the 1year old always sniggles with me and puts his head on my belly and 6year old follows me everywhere :)
Mine was exactly like that. When I would get off of work he would meet me at the door and set and give me a hug and he would lick my belly as if he missed his sister. He was hit by a truck in front of our faces a month and a half ago and my stepson insisted we get a new one. So we got a girl this time and she is attached to me sleeps on top in me and if we are riding in the car she will cry and cry until she is in my lap. It's almost as I'm her comfort zone. She is still a baby 11 weeks old. I think she knows I'm the mother of the house. I wouldn't have anything other than a lab they are wonderful family dogs and very protective! I'm worried about when the baby gets here too. With this one being only 11 weeks and baby is going to be here in 8. I'm sure yours will do great because they are a year and out of their puppy stage. My other one I wasn't worried about. Just a teething pup is stressful. All I can think of is her biting on my baby girls feet lol!

They are being protective right now. It's sweet. They will be protective with the baby too. My dogs started getting into with each other over who could be close to the baby so be careful too. My dogs were both female idk if that matters

dogs do sense these things and become very protective. i have a fair few working dogs and two of them will stand by my side and growl at any other dogs that come to close to me. and when im outside playing with the dogs theres one that walks by my side so i can lean on him for support its really amazing
We just adopted our dog from the local shelter when I was about 25 weeks and he's super protective of me and my bump lol I'm in the bath tub right now and he's laying on the bath mat beside me lol I'm worried to about his behaviour after baby but I'm sure he'll protect her as well.

Yes! Of course my oldest knows there's a new baby coming but I'm sure the little one and the dogs know too because they started like a month before i found out I was pregnant

I have a lab hound mix n she literally follows me everywhere to. N she's usually super hyper but she loves just calmly sitting with me now. I think they sense it.
My dogs been acting like that since around 5 months and my due dates next sat I think its just cuz they know somethings going to change & there not going to be getting as much attention
