early labor

I'm 37 weeks +6 and I'm getting really bad braxton hicks as well as like Charlie horses in my lower tummy. This weekend I'm traveling from ohio to tenessee should I take the car seat with me. What r the odds of going into labor during the trip?

Federal law prohibits a hospital from turning you away if you're in labor so that isn't an issue, but travelling that far with a newborn is another story... I would at least ask for a copy of your positive group b strep culture so there won't be a delay in getting you antibiotics if you do go into labor away from home.

I'm not sure if you actually need it, I mean if ur in labor I don't think a hospital will turn you away but with my first pregnancy my midwive told me after I hit 36 weeks she didn't want me traveling over 2 hrs one way. She told me if its a must to let her know so she can get me copies of my paperwork to have with me just in case I go into labor (idk if it makes it easier for another dr to see how ur pregnancy has been going or if there are issues).

I don't think I would risk it lol but that's me personally. I would take the carseat and also call my dr for a copy of all my paperwork so if u do end up going into labor they will have ur pregnancy info :) good luck!

Being 37wks Id be too paranoid to go anywhere away from home. But I suppose if you have room it might be a good idea to pack the carseat just in case
