Definitely talk to your doctor, but do NOT stop taking your prenatals unless they tell you to. Iron while pregnant is extremely important as a pregnant females blood volume increases quite a bit and it's very easy to become anemic while pregnant.

This is really, really normal. When you're pregnant, your body slows digestion waaaaaaay down to get all the vitamins it can for baby. What Proudmommie said: fiber, fiber, fiber. And lots of water. In addition to fruits and veggies, go for juices, chocolate and whole grains -- breads with seeds in them, anything with oats, etc. Don't go too crazy with the sugar, but I added more chocolate and a lot of foods with oatmeal to my diet and it helped a lot -- didn't cure it though.

If your doctor's ok with it, try taking a prenatal that doesn't have iron in it, the iron pills can make that problem worse. Laxatives are not generally considered good for pregnant women. If you have to go but are straining, your doctor might prescribe a stool softener.

Here's a recipe that's been hitting the cravings for me all week -- and helping in that general department:
Get a bag of chocolate chips and use the classic chocolate chip cookie recipe on the back. Skip the nuts, add a cup of oatmeal and two ripe bananas. Keep the rest of the ingredients the same. Drop onto sheets, bake at 350 till golden -- about 10-12 minutes. Happy munching!
