I put clear nail polish on ringworm. It suffocates it, and helps stop the itching.
Does any1 know how 2 get rid of ringworm on the head(scalp)?
there is a cat around here my son keeps playin with i think he is givin us to him cause my son keeps gettin ringworms and plus he's a boy so he keeps playin up with everything am goin the pharmacy later on to get the lotion
I didn't read all of the posts but just to let you know, ringworm is not actually a worm. It seems by the way you called them "ringworms" that you thought it was actually a worm. It is merely a fungal infection and many people are prone to getting it while others are not. Just like some people can walk through poison ivy and never get it while others can just look at it and be covered head to toe with it. There is no cause for concern if you have ringworm. Also, you do not need a prescription for the lotion anymore. As one of the other posters said, you use Lotrimin Lotion it is over the counter and you follow the instructions on the package. I would double check with your local pharmacist or doctor before using it while pregnant. Pets are generally the culprit when you get ringworm too. I actually have a dog who is prone to getting it every summer when he walks through the woods; consequently, I end up getting it in the same spot every summer (right on my ankle). Make sure you do not scratch because that will only spread it. I never have any issue getting rid of it either, if you follow the directions and use the lotion accordingly it should be cleared up in less than two weeks. Hope this helps.
well am usin the cream i only have one big spot in my neck thank God one little spot on my arm and another little spot in my neck i guess i can calm down i think when i get anxious my blood gets hot and that is when i itch am goin the doctor tomorrow

my daughter has had ringworm before and her dr. just said to use lotrimin also and it worked just fine. but being pregnant im not sure how much of it goes into your system. and if the nurse said not to use anything, i wouldnt. but in the meantime, remember not to itch it cuz it will spread. and also wash your hands constantly, it spreads from skin to skin contact. so your son or husband can get it back from you.
not to scare you or anything, my son was 5 at the time he caught ringworm from a persian cat we bought. he had it 9 mos. i'm not exaggerating either. let the doc know now. he even lost his hair on the one side of his head. ringworm is nasty. meaning its really hard to get rid of. honestly the best thing that worked for him was clear nail polish. you need to smother it, so it can't breathe. it may burn a lil. but the only thing that works. prescriptions and all. well i really didn't mean to scare ya. good luck to you.
thanks my doctor is on vacation i spoke to the nurse she say dont use nothin i have to see the doctor am itching all over my doctor dont like me to see those other doctors cause they are stupid i have hyperthyroidism so my doctorr is very careful when it comes to me i call her if i have any problems i try callin a hospital to speak to a OB doctor no luck so far am goin to try again i knwo havin ringworms can harm ur baby i use my son cream i hope nothing happen
you can use lotrimin. It is an athlete's foot cream, you rub it on the spot 2 times a day for 10 days!!
You should always check with your Dr, but Blue Star Ointment works well on ringworms.....You just rub it on the spot.....Check with Dr first though. Make sure you can use it while pregnant
