inducing?

Hey Ladies. I have a couple questions. I'm 40 weeks and 2 days today and when I went to my OB Thursday she said I was still only a little over 2 centimeters dilated. Had been for over a week at that point. She told me if my son didn't make his own arrival by the 30th they are going to induce me. I was wondering what all medical induction consists of and if its painful at all. Not only that but if I can avoid being induced medically I will. I've been walking like crazy, I bounce on the edge of my bed and chairs. I take hot baths and showers. I tried sex and nipple stimulation. Heck I even tried the orange juice and milk thing. Nothing is working and I really don't want to ingest any chemicals or insert any capsules. I want to do this as natural as possible. So if there is something some of you ladies have tried that I may have not heard of or read about can you help a girl out? Thanks in advance. No bashing either. If you don't approve of self induction move along. (:

No. They haven't. What exactly is a membrane sweep anyway?

Nope. The worst part was when they were putting in my I.V they couldn't find my dam vein!

Does the process of being medically induced hurt?

I wish I had a way to walk on the beach. Even getting to the nearest lake takes 45 minutes minimum. /: thank you though
I have been walking like crazy. I walked so much on my due date that it caused my hips to hurt and I could barely move the rest of the day -_- and I'm glad you had your baby boy!! Congrats! Although I'm sorry it took so long to convince him to come out. My little guy is just being stubborn. I constantly get these sharp pains in my vagina at times. And every now and then a contraction. But that's about it. No pressure or major contractions close together. I just want him here already lol

When I got induced first they tried gel in my vagina (didn't work) then they inserted a pill (didn't work) 3rd day now, they were able to brake my waters at 9 am at 12 they hooked up to an iv and started pumping me with pitocin. At 3 my son was born :) I was only 38 weeks when induced due to medical reasons and he wasn't ready to come which is why it took so long to get a move on. I have heard that induction contractions are far more worse than natural labour contractions because they are forced.

My sister went for an hour walk in the soft sand at the beach went home and her water broke, you could give that a go, she tried this on her due date, I tired it with my son but had no luck, I had to be induced at 41 weeks, labour is painful anyway it happens, just keep upright buring labour, it helps keep things moving, good luck and just remember your baby will be here very soon either way!
