Did any of you mommies have low iron and you had to take iron pills over the counter or buy yourself ? I had to buy mine but not sure if I got the right ones ? There little white circle pills I just get worried my doctor told me it was safe but just wanted to know if any other mommies took similar ones I'm taking ?
Doc told me I had to take them now until end of pregnancy :/ they upset my tummy too but they said to take it at night after I eat something. Avoid dairy products a few hrs before you take it (calcium doesnt allow the iron to absorb properly) and take colace if you start getting constipated.
Try some blackstrap molasses 2 tablespoons a day it will get your iron back where it needs to be. Its natural and doesn't take long. Its taste like liquid prunes but its over fast and it works!!
I was anemic as well with my first, I had the ones my doc prescribed and I can't remember what they looked like, buy iron is iron so I don't think that will matter, as long as your getting the right amount. I took the iron supplement until the day I delivered and I may have taken them postpartum as well because I remember clotting really bad.
That's what I'm worried about is the iron pills making me feel sick ! But I know I have to take them ! What helped you not feel so sick ?
My doctor gave me a prescription for them. I don't like taking them tho they make me sick to my stomach.
I had my iron very low any kind is fine... also try eating food with fiber in it... beans are super good I eat been soup once a week and took my pill normally and it helped me a lot... I'm not a fan of beans but my uncles bean soups are the bomb...
Im taking iron pills too, I didn't want to drive to pharmacy to pick up the ones they sent the prescription too and I was already at the store. The over-the-counter ones are pretty much the same thing! Mine are little and white circular pills as well. Brand is nature made
