I had been having a lot of pain since 1am on my due date,  had an appointment that day and got checked, I was 100% effaced and 3cm. She said I was basically going to have the baby any minute. I had pain for the next 24 hours and by 2pm the next day I called my midwife to let her know. She came over to check me and I was already 5cm, so we headed to the hospital. Honestly, it was never even terribly bad. I had irregular contractions my entire labour (my midwife said she'd never seen that happen before). They broke my water while I was pushing and after that he was out in no time. If your water doesn't break by the time you're pushing, ask them to break it!! It doesn't hurt and it makes things wayy faster and easier! Go in expecting the worst and hoping for the best and you'll do great!!

I'm 18 and a first a first tkme mom. My daughter was due on 5/21. I started having small contractions on Tuesday 5/20 and ended up going up to the hospital to see if I was in labor or if they where just Braxton hicks. They checked me and I was dilated to a 2 so they had me walk around for an hour to see if I continued to have them and then checked me again. I found out that I get back labor so my lower back was hurting instead of my lower stomach. I was still at a 2 so they sent me home. I went to my doctor the next day on her due date but before I went I had taken an hour long walk and was hurting. I told the doctor that if she said I was only dilated to a 2 still I was going to cry and I did because I was. I got woken up at 3:30 Thursday morning with horrible back pain and ended up going down stairs and sitting on the work out ball my mom had gotten from my dads office for me and that didn't help. I eventually fell asleep on the couch curled up in a ball and woke up around 8 because I could hear my mom getting ready. When she told me she was leaving for work she said to call her if I wanted her to come home. I slept off and on till 11 in which time I had taken a bath to see if it helped with the contractions which it did for a little. I ended up calling my mom at 11:15 to come home because I was tired of being alone and in pain. When she got home she started another bath for me around 12 and this time it didn't really help. By 3:30 my mom ended up taking me up to the hospital because I was hurting so bad and my contractions seemed like they where every minute or so but that's because I was in so much pain. When I got to the hospital they checked me and I was dilated to a 6 so they admitted me and moved me to my own room where I got the epidural at 4:15 and felt so much better because I was no longer in pain. At 7:30 the doctor came in and I started pushing. At 7:41 pm my beautiful daughter Ciara Janise Melton was born weighting 6 lbs. 14 oz. and 19 1/2 in. long. She will be 5 weeks today and I can't imagine my life without her.

Kept hoping my husband would walk in but no. Finally got to the point where i was feeling the need to push, so asked the nurse to call Karey and he was at the parking garage trying to figure out how to get the gate to open, push the button. Then i started to push while the nurse had her fingers up my whoha, once i got to a certain point i had to stop and wait for the Dr. Right after the Dr walked in Karey came in and i started doing the hard stuff and 30 min later Kallan Lachey was born, 5lb 4oz. My beautiful baby boy after 5 hours of labor, slight ripping (no stiches needed which was my biggest worry before) and sell natural-lamaze us awesome:)

I was due July 15th. On June 13 i walked around main street looking at the derby cars for the upcoming soapbox derby that my husband was supposed to compete in. When we got home it was pretty late and i wasn't really hungry so we went to bed, it was 11:30ish. As soon as i laid down i started having contractions, figured they were just braxton hicks from walking around in the heat earlier. Felt the need to pee so i got up and used the rr. Got back in bed and soon after felt like i had peed myself, a bit agitated and tired, i waited a min to get up to use the rr again, but this time when i stood up it was like a waterfall between my legs. Woke my husband up telling him my water broke, he didn't believe me until he got up to look only to step in it. Then he realized i knew what i was talking about. Had to call up his ex to see if she could meet us somewhere to pick up their daughter, she was being really difficult asking us to meet her 20 minutes in the opposite direction of the hospital. So we ended up taking her to the hospital with us and my dad came picked her up for us. Once we got to hospital was 90% and 2cm. Since i was a month early they wouldn't deliver me in case of complications so they had me starflighted to a hospital an hour and a half away, only took 30 min via helicopter. Apparently there was a storm coming in too so that made the ride so much more exciting. Got to the hospital had to fill out all of the paperwork while contracting

My due date was 4/26 but that whole week and day I didn't have any contractions.  Didn't lose my mucus plug, Or have my water break.  On the 28th I saw my midwife and she said I was dilated about 3cm and I could go into active labor pretty soon.  That night I started having contractions but they were far apart. Then on the morning of 4/29 they were coming in like clockwork. so I went into the hospital and was in active labor. I try going natural so I went into the tub but it wasn't easing those contractions.  So I got on epidural.  My husband was so scared because ur not allowed to move. So he kept saying don't move please don't move. Then I lost my mucus plug and the midwife broke my water. I was pushing for 20 mins. popped on myself &threw up twice then he finally came out. I had no tearing so no need for stitches. I was able to move around, walk fine and bathe by myself without any nurses help. But my son went into intensive care since he didn't cry or wasn't breathing until a min after birth.  He's arm was wrapped around his neck. When he came out. He had to stay on oxygen for 2 weeks. Until they discharged him. My advice will be to really work on pushing when those contractions hit. Breath when they tell u to and just relax. And work with ur midwife and nurse .
