mostly just a vent

Ok, I have no money, I work a few hrs a week, my bf was doing his own company but had to get a normal job too at the end of Nov. He found one for $10/hr. Then my washer broke, part is about $60 but that is my food budget for 4 for a Week so it's hard to come up with. We r getting further & further behind on payments & I have borrowed from my family to keep the heat turned on (its -20`C TODAY).

Then he got laid off but found another job less than a week later for $14/hr so we started to hope, maybe, that we'll be able to catch up. Then my ovens element burnt out, which ***** cause I make my own bread & goodies so we have stuff to eat! Now I wake up at 5am to a burst water pipe & I am going to have to miss a shift at work to deal with this!

How am I supposed to stay stress free, I cant even take a bath, bake bread to help cut costs, pay bills, or wash the flipping laundry! How am I gonna buy a car seat to bring the baby home? Or diapers? This is so not working out. I feel like I am gonna crack under the pressure like that stupid burst pipe!

Some hospitals offer car seats to women that are not able to afford them.   I believe fire dept. Do as well.      I know u are more than likely a very proud women.   But maybe some of ur local churches could chip in.     if there is a will there is a way.        u will pull threw hun.   Dont worry.      Ur baby is a blessing and someone is looking after u.

So then you need to talk to your ex & a lawyer becuase if he owes you that much then they can help you get some of that money or they can recalculate what he owes based on his current income situation.  I'm assuming that he is on unemployement so  they can see when that started and use that date so you can get some assistance. I know in Canada we don't have coupons like they do state side but you can get some for diapers and baby stuff that you may need.

The pipe bursting should be covered under your insurance &/or your landlords if you are renting a place. The stove and the dryer not so much but the pipes are.

So they say I have to get $12,000 from him before I can collect from them. I know he can barely make rent too & we have a 50/50 custody arrangement so he doesn't have to pay me now. If he made 50k a year he would still have to support the kids while they r with me

And I completely understand abt being on a food budget!!! When I had my first baby and then years after #2 came we had a $50.00 a wk  budget for food/toiletries/diapers..coupons became my best friends!! I'm a coupon crazy now..I get lots of stuff pennies on the dollar..;-) I even keep em organized in a binder..that could be another route for you to look into!! It really opens up your weekly budget!!!
