nightmares!

For the last week when I go to sleep I only have nightmares which cause me to wake up frequently :( anyone else have this issue or have any suggestions? This entire pregnancy has been uncomfortable and painful and I wake up a lot to use the restroom plus I have a very active 5yr old so I need all the rest I can get.

May sound a little silly but I bought a dream catcher to kinda trick my mind into less nightmares. I only get weird dreams now. Might help, might not. But you can try it if you want...

I've been the same way. The only dreams I've had were nightmares, aside from maybe 2-5 dreams which were very spread out during the pregnancy. Most of my dreams were of being chased, stalked, kidnapped, even murdered.. never good things lol. There isn't really much that can be done about what you dream, but maybe trying to give yourself a better experience before bed (drinking milk, laying down and trying to be calm until falling asleep, watch something funny on t.v. or a movie, talk about something funny or really good) anything to really keep your mind off anything bad as best as you can. If sleeping becomes a horrible problem, talk to your doctor about it, I believe they say that Unisom and Benadryl are good things over the counter to take while pregnant to help you sleep (they make you drowsy). Also, if worst comes to worst, my doctor prescribed me Ambien for the nights where I really can't sleep no matter what I do as I've become almost 100% an insomniac. I don't take it often as even though she gave the okay to use being pregnant, I don't feel like it's a good thing to take being pregnant so I try not to take it unless I'm desperate for sleep and not really getting it. I know what you mean about being uncomfortable and in pain also, try to prop yourself up as much as you can with pillows and try your best (it's difficult). Also try not to drink close to bed (about an hour or two) of at least a good amount of liquids can cause you to wake up more frequently to use the restroom. Good luck! Hopefully you're far enough along now that you're almost at the finish line! It's the best thing that will make these problems go away!
