It'll get better, your body will adjust! I nurse and still end up pumping 14+oz of milk a day, I feel like a cow sometimes haha. If you want to reduce supply you can pump, just don't pump as much at once and it might help.
And I am saving it!! Only a crazy person wouldn't!
I'm pretty sure he's getting enough. He's always content for 3-4 hours after. He poops plenty. And he's already started maintaining his weight. And I massage my breasts while he eats to help with the let down.
What I would do is save all your extra if he is getting enough. That way if for some reason your supply stops too early you will have some in stock. :)
Freeze your milk. And another r really important question. Are you sure baby is eating enough? I made a lot of milk with my son because he wad in the NICU so I had to pump a lot to leave milk there for him. And when he came home I noticed that I pumped even more milk. But it was because he wasn't eating much while he was latched. He was being lazy and using me as a pacifier while he lay there. Lol. So first make sure he is actively eating. Then if he is, find a really God support bra so that you won't know your breast are engorged....then stop pumping. That way the milk production slows down.
After about a week or 2 your supply will lessen and move to what baby actually uses. At that point you could probably cut your pumpings in half time wise and just gradually cut them out if you want so then you wont get engorged.
My sister froze her extra and quit breast feeding at 6 months when her baby got teeth and used the frozen milk after that.
I would look into donating your breast milk. With my first son he wouldnt latch on. I never thought about donated milk but ive looked into it this time around. There are lots of places that will let you sell or donate it. And its tax deductible.
I can't take the pain!! That 12 oz was from only 2 pumpings!! Looks like ill have an over stock of milk.
The more you feed and pump the more you produce so maybe cut back on the pumping I know being engorged hurts but the more you "empty" them the more they will reproduce
