stripping membranes?

I'm 35 weeks now and my Dr said in 2 weeks she can strip my membranes if I want to. What are the thoughts on that for people who've had it done. Dr said its uncomfortable. But does it make you go into labor? Is it worth it? What does it feel like? How soon did you go into labor?

It can push the bacteria closer to the baby. Dr's will tell you it's not the case but if you go on the Group B strep International website it tells you not to get your membranes stripped.

I'm leaning more towards not doing it anyway but what happens if you get it if you test positive

Uncomfortable yes. Unbearable no. Will it make you go in to labor? Maybe...but not necessarily. It's really not that big of a deal. If you're ready to go, it will probably get something brewing...if not, it wont.
