How could you keep using pills and have a poor baby born with an addiction? I'm watching this poor baby in the hospital born addicted to pain pills. The hospital has to keep the baby at a "high" so the baby doesn't withdrawal and have seizures. The once he's at a maintained dose they will slowly wien him off of that. Could take months the doctor say! Can't even believe the pilled out mommy is helping the doctors with her baby! In the US that baby would be gone and never seen by it's mother. Just shocking as I said this is TV I'm watching so that could be the half of it as well. But sicking
usually methadone or suboxone is a opiate antagonists to help people with substance abuse get off there drug of choice and live a healthy clean life. what it does is produce an opiate effect in the brain & blocks any opiates so if the person were to try and use it will block the effect keeping them sober. it is recommended by doctors that if a women gets pregnant while on it not too stop it as it can cause miscarriage or seizuresin the womb, they rather u stay on it bc they can help a baby at birth rather than inside the womb. so I don't believe she should have ppl trying to get her kids taken away when she's obviously on q methadone program to get clean & sober. now taking pain pills thru out pregnancy is a whole diff story imo bc she is still using while pregnant rather than trying to get help, poor child. but a lot of ppl who are not addicts willnot understand this scenario as it's complicated.

And that's exactly what I learned. In the us they drug test mom and baby. If either are dirty you and your family will loose that baby. Call me crazy not trying to be rude. But if your already strung out why would keeping that baby be logical. They even said they keep the baby to detox mainly because the moms would dose the baby and it could be fatal. I just don't see the good of sending a baby back into those horrific conditions.
methadone is usually to help wein someone off of a stronger drug . stoping methadone can cause complications and even miscarriages during pregnancy .
My nephew was in detox for 2 months after he was born because his mom did methadone the whole pregnancy. She still has custody of hima and children's services was never called at the hospital. We have tried to take the baby but children's services will not do anything
