Definitely need to come clean to your Dr. I was offered tylonal 3 when pregnant by the ER for pain from an ovarian cyst, so i know it's acceptable at least occasionally. If there are any complications the Dr. will need to know what you were on to adjust levels and accurately assess your baby when it's born. Also, it would be good to confide in a friend for support.

Tylenol with codeine is safe... But I'm not sure of the amount. Please tell the Dr. If issues come up they have to know that!
Ur def gonna have to talk to ur doc about that. Idk exactly what that is or used for but from reading a lil bit just now, seems like a very serious medication. I would talk to ur ob and see what to do next.
I have recently discovered that im pregnant and for the last two months i have been taking approx 100mg of kapanol (morphine sulfate). I want to stop but am scared on what effect the withdrawals mat have on bub...any ideas please..
I was on Tylenol 3 from the time I was about 5 months while pregnant with my first son which was now almost 4 yrs ago. My midwife prescribed it to me. I would never ever take anything that I was no told was ok by the doctor. My son was not born addicted to it or anything else. Im sure taking more than prescribed of not good. And I understand that hers we're not prescribed and that could go over badly but I was informing her that I was on them and my son was fine
Idk if any of you know, tylenol 3 is NOT the same as tylenol. It has codeine in it which is a controlled substance just like Vicodin. I don't mean to upset you but your baby will probably be born addicted to the drug. And I'm not sure if they would take your baby from you but its definitely possible.
U should be fine of ur just taking th Tylenol 3. When I was pregnant with my son my midwife prescribed them to me for back pain and I was allowed up to 2 a day. And my son was perfectly healthy other than him having asthma. I carries him to term and he weighed 7 lbs 10 ozs
If it's prescription medication, not prescribed to you, yes they can call CPS and report it, from there it's up to CPS to decide whether or not what they do. Hospitals now, especially if you're on state insurance can do drug tests on the infants without the mothers consent, especially if they suspect drug abuse from the mother, I would honestly, just come clean with your doctor, let him know you've cut back as much as you can, and you're doing your best. Your doctor deals with this a lot, I assure you, you won't be the last, and you're not the first, just let him/her know so they can be on the lookout for your baby. If you're honest, it's very unlikely CPS will take your child, or maybe even get called. Good luck hun!
I'm not an expert or anything but I know Tylenol is safe to take when pregnant but just regular strength so I'm not sure what the 3's effect would be. At least you stopped taking the Vicodin.
Definitely talk to your doctor about it and call one of the numbers that were provided to you.
To be honest, I'm not sure. Coming clean with your doc is smart, but very scary! I was even nervous to tell them about smoking! And that seems to be more socially acceptable, compared to narcotics, etc.
Did you try calling MotherRisk? How is your doc personally? Is he a straight-shooter, a cocky doctor, a laid back guy, etc.... normally you can tell with their personalities how they will react to telling them now, vs at the start. It's kind of like telling a lie to your parents - always best to tell them right away when it happens, vs when they find out. The only concern, should there be something wrong, heaven forbid!, they will run a gambet of tests when baby is born. This is all theories, I really don't know what would happen. But you want to know what possible concerns there are with taking codine while pregnant. Are you still taking two/day? Or have you stopped taking them? Do you take them for a "high" feeling or for pain? As the doc might be able to give you something a little safer (for both purposes).
Oh, just thought of this - because it's an addictive med, you baby will be born addicted. They do need to know this - as baby will need to go into the special care nursery to be helped weaned off the med. I know here, if you work with the teams there to come clean yourself, while baby weans off it as well, then you keep your baby - if you show you have no intentions of getting better, they won't as they feel it could impact your care of baby (as addictions tend to progress to worse meds, etc). They will know when baby is born she is addicted to something and for her health and recovery, you want them to know to be able to help her heal!!
How do you feel about that?
Its best to tell him now instead of them testing the baby after birth and finding it in his system
My nxt doctor apt. is on monday and ive been thinking alot about bringing my problem up to him, iam worried because iam so far along and im just now comming out about it....If i tell them, can they take my baby away knowing i was an abuser through out my pregnancy?

I'm in Canada and we have MANY 800 numbers to call for annonymous support. Check you local phone book or even a google search. There is also a great website called MotherRisk that goes through all the medications and potential risks for baby. I believe they too might have a number to call, but am not sure if it's only Canada... I'll check.
I have not discussed anything with my doctor or anyone else because of fear what they will say or think about it... You said something about calling a line as annoymous.. do You know any number I could possiably call just for the help?
Have you discussed with your doc? They are the ones who should be completely in the know to be able to provide the best care for you and baby. For now, don't stress as that can cause early labour and many other issues for baby. (and you!) Maybe even call an annonymous line to discuss these issues and find out answers to calm your mind. I was worried with my first, because I had no idea I was pregnant until about 9w, but between then and conception I was a heavy drinker, smoker, partier! When I found out I stopped almost completely, but still had a cigarette every once in a while. And he's soooo fine! :)
Relax, there's not much further to go, but to ease your mind, talk to a professional about it - even through an annonymous route if that makes you feel more at ease.
Best wishes!!
My mom tells me don't stress n try not to be nervous because the baby will be nervous all the time so try to take it easy and ask your doctor. I use to take vicodin too but just wen mother nature hit I was on depo and it scared me cuz the last one I got was while I was pregnant but I didn't know it yet
