sleeping arrangements?

Is it okay to have baby sleep in a soft bouncer for the first few weeks? Or even a play pen with a soft cushion like a folded blanket/sheet under him? I dont have a crib yet cause my mom was suppose to get me one but she's stalling and he'll be here anytime.

Back in the day they put infants in an open dresser drawer. Haha. I plan to have my baby cosleep. I read it reduces incidences of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Also I don't like the idea of carrying him for 9 months inside me and then the minute he comes into the world I put him somewhere he sleeps alone.

I took a safe sleep class and they said it's not safe unless it's in a pack and play or crib.

My son had a stomach problem. Always threw up and I couldn't trust him to sleep layin down so for about two weeks he would sleep in his carseat. I know it sounds terrible but I couldn't have him throw up and choke. At 5 weeks he had surgery and is now able to sleep laying down and not get sick at all. He slept in his playpen till 7 months. I finally got a crib. He sleeps perfect in either one.

I don't see why not. But listen, keep in mind that your baby might not like to sleep in whatever you put her in.
I bought an expensive bassinet for my daughter and she probably slept in it barely the first couple nights we brought her home. After that the only thing she will consistently sleep in is her baby swing.
