Well oddly enough my friends midwife told her she can have 2-4 cigs a day and the baby would be fine...he's 2 now and perfectly healthy, she smoked through her whole pregnancy... I smoked and my doc told me it's unhealthy to quit cold turkey so I Weaned myself off of it and quit at 8 weeks and my baby too is perfectly healthy sooooooo it's really controversial you will get posts on here telling you it's horrible and bla bla, it's not the best thing but it also doesn't effect your baby if you smoke that small amount and again ladies will argue with that too... I'm just relaying what my doc told me... But technically there is no study or proof of effects because you it's unethical to do studies on an expectant mother so I recommend talking to your doc cuz your gonna get all kinds of answers about this on here
It can cause issues with your child's lung development... which in my eyes isn't really worth messing with. Doctors don't recommend it for a reason! That being said there are dozens and dozens of woman who smoke right through their pregnancies and never have any issues, yet the odd one does. I don't think lots worth it, you never know if your child is going to be the one who gets the crap end of the stick. My sister in law smoked the whole way through and went into labor at 36w(nothing to do with smoking) but her son had to spend a while in nicu because he could not breath on his own! It can also cause the baby to be underweight.
im a smoker I smoked with all of my kids im 31 weeks and 4days pregnant with my 3rd and im still smokinmg I know I need to stop but its hard
Im still smoking and my baby is growing perfectly fine
