I've never had a pap smear before but I go for my first ultrasound soon and I will be 7 and a half weeks. Will I get a pap smear then???

Yes they usually give you a pap smear on your first prenatal visit to check and make sure everything is okay.

Yeah on my first visit i was hoping they wouldn't do one and they did. It was super uncomfortable for me, i personally hate it. I wish i didn't have to do that anymore.

I started getting them yearly at 16, you should have them regularly from the time you are sexually active. They are uncomfortable, but its necessary to make sure all is well down there.

Yeah, here in North Dakota you have to be 21.. Guess they just started doing that not too long ago... But you still have to get a pelvic exam the first appointment... Well the doctors here do it anyways... I seriously thought it was going to be waaaaay worse then it was... Don't worry too much about it, it'll be done with before you even know it... Good luck!

I was told by a doctor long time ago, when you start having sex go get one done. Well i didnt, im 23 and almost 23 weeks pregnant, got my first pap smear when i was around 12 weeks. It doesnt hurt just uncomfortable, i could leave my top clothes on and everything. My midwife performed it. Just stare at the ceiling and talk to your doctor, thats what kept my mind off of it.

I never had to get a pap smear! (Thank God!)
They were going to at my first prenatal visit but my midwife just asked me a few question, ( if I was leaking fluid, smell, pain, ect...) I didn't have any of those so she didn't do one!
She told me just because you're pregnant don't mean u need a pap smear!
& I'm not 21 (which I think I'd the age u start to get pap smears) abd I don't have to start till then.
