I had all three too. I used the bassinet for three months and LOVED it. Then the crib for like a LONG time and the pack and play came in handy when we went to anyone else's house. Baby could nap or go to bed if need be. Also once in a while I could set it up like a playpen and quickly get something done. I didn't really do that much but occasionally it is nice to have that option. I will always keep our pack and play because when we have people over with babies, they might not bring one and it is nice for a baby to lay down when they are ready to nap or go to bed and the parents still want to stay. My sister kept hers after her kids were grown and always gets it out for guests with babies so that is how I go that idea.
good luck sweetie
My first son I got a brand new crib, he slept in it only at bed time & it was right next to my bed. Other than that he was napped & played in his play pen for along time. This baby I found a bomb deal on a newcrib so I ended up getting it, I say either way. Pack and plays are just better so you can move it from room to room, or next to your bed at night. I've say both, if you could. I haven't got a pack N play yet, just depends on you I guess.
I have all three,
BC i have a small room I'm using a cradle bassinet right now until baby is few months old (cradle/bassinet takes up no room)
Then i have a pack n play BC it's portable and if I'm in the kitchen cooking i can have the pack in play close by small and convenient.
And i have a crib For when baby gets older.
It's the kind of crib that turns into a toddler bed and then an adult bed
(i got all three at a yard sale for $20)
If u buy new it will be kinda costly to have all three but VERY convenient to make your life easier
I have both. I'm apart of a program (live in Indiana) and as a reward for taking this one time class you get a free pack and play.
my sons pediatrician tol ne it is bad for a baby to sleep in a pack n play for an extended period of time. it is good for every once and a while
My pack n play comes with a changing station & bassinet. so I'm going to use that for the first 2 months or so in my room. But I also have her crib & dresser+ changing pad in the nursery. I just feel like a nursery isn't complete without a crib. And most cribs now are convertible so you can use it for years. After 2 months, I'm going to let her sleep in here room in her crib. And I'll use the pack n play for downstairs and when I travel.
I used an on top of the bed bassinet for the first 2 months since recovering from my c-section was difficult. But than my sons been in the crib since. Hes never liked the pack n play even wen we traveled. N I got the lifetime crib (babiesRus) that turned into a reg bed. We switched that when he was 1 n 1/2 (hes 2 now) its been great.
Ok just gonna say half the pack n plays come with bassinets connected now.
I used the bassinet for 2 weeks lol.
Waste of money. My daughter started sleeping in her crib when she was 2 weeks old.
If you get a convertible crib, they can use the bed as toddlers.
I'm getting both. Actually ordered them off walmart at the same time but the crib got here before hand. Its one that will "grow" with the baby. And it was pretty cheap too. I'm getting the packnplay for the bedroom for the first few months shes home, and ontop of that we're traveling to fl so she'll need something portable and I can keep her in it when I'm in the living room and all that. A friend of mine had a packnplay for her son for a while and said the mattress was getting used to much that it was getting uncomfortable for her baby so she got a crib. In my opinion they are both good to have. And if you can only do one at a time then do a packnplay, they're pretty cheap, and save for a crib. Or look on craigslist, a lot of people sell old baby things.
Bassinet is good for the first few months. I would never have my son use a pack n play as a bed except for the basinet use it has or when I'm traveling. After 3-4 months I do not consider a pack n play a bed.
Bassinet for the first few months then a convertible crib. I bought a crib that converts to a toddler bed and a twin bed. I didn't really like the pack and play idea but it's always up to you. The crib I bought was around $120 but it's basically three beds in one.
Bassinet first couple of months crib when the baby can sit up and crawl pack and play just something for the baby just sitting when you busy
My son slept in a bassinet for the first 3 months of his life. Went to a pack and play after. Been in one since. So much easier when moving or to move around.
