Oh yea, I forgot peanut butter and beans. I don't get cheese either, but most places give you cheese.
yeah, definitely don't be ashamed to get WIC. Even women with full-time good paying jobs get WIC. WIC varies in most states, like in my state you only get the cheese if you are breastfeeding. but you get everything else that des92 listed above, plus peanut butter and beans.
I'm on wic, I know they count your unborn baby as a person but not sure about food stamps. Your income has to be pretty low to qualify, I qualify now that I'm single but once my fiance and I get married we'll make too much. I only make 11$ an hour and he only makes 14.80 and yet our income will be close to 600$ over the limit for a family of three... it's frustrating because we will still really need assistance as we're both students.
Right now I get tons of milk, 10$ of produce, 3 things of frozen juice, peanut butter, a dozen eggs, 3 cans of beans, a loaf of bread, and 36 oz of cereal a month.
Don't be ashamed to get WIC, most people on here get WIC. You will get about 4 checks a month with bread, milk, cheese, eggs, juice, fruits/veg, cereal. Yes you can get it if you are married. Foodstamps count just you and hubby if thats all that lives in house. You will get more foodstamps after baby is born.
