It's important to note that one can exhibit passive-aggressive behavior without all of the symptoms. That's why it's sometimes hard to understand what's happening.
It does, definitely, lead to loneliness, misunderstandings, and feelings of rejection. Sometimes it can't be overcome without professional help
The above pretty much described me during my using years.
My husband has tried. The thing is, I'm smart and can outsmart passive aggressive. :>) He gave up as I don't play that way.
I read some signs of passive aggressive behavior:
• Procrastination
• Sulking & the silent treatment
• Intentional Inefficiency (Performing tasks to unacceptable standards)
• Excessive excuses & feigned misunderstanding
• Shutting down conversations with "Fine" and "Whatever."
The sad thing about it, it leads to both people feeling lonely, misunderstood and rejected. Boo to that. Definitely worth overcoming!
Yes, I've encountered this. It's not, necessarily, easy to handle because it's not always easy to recognize. I'm just learning to handle it and it can't always be handled the same way - that depends on the person engaging in it.
As for myself - yes, I'll admit to it, though it's a last resort...
Oh great, it is my day off and now i have to think about this!!! I was planning on doing nothing!! lol
