Glad it is cleared up. You were put on a normal course of therapy that does work for most people so glad it worked for you.
Hmm perhaps i was unclear about this.
Doxy is not used as monotherapy for gonorrhea. It is always accompanied with another antibiotic. Gonorrhea is basically fully resistant to tetracycline classes.
But due to the phrasing of the question, i assumed u meant using doxy only.
Anyways, it is not your job or any of us to figure out what antibiotic to use. Go ask your doctor
It doesnt work like this. There is a lot to know about antibiotics and the different family. Ie. The spectrum of activity. Gram postitive or gram negative...
Just go ask the doctor
Gonprrhea is resistant to cipro and doxy.
Consult an infectious disease specialist
Do an antibiotic sensitivity culture
My doctor is not up to date on medications and told me taking Cipro for 7 days would kill it. I just couldn’t continue as I have joint pain.
So am wondering what my next course of action is. Doxycycline?
I'm surprised the combo of meds you were first given didn't do the trick. Why the cipro the second time? Did he think you had a UTI?
