I cannot find any other symptoms like I have. And there is some odd (unfortunate) circumstances as well...
I am a 41-year-old male. Married 20 years. No other sexual partners ever. No STDs or major infections. My wife and I are very sexually active... 2 to 4 times a week.
In mid-December my urethra began to hurt. Mainly towards the tip. No discharge of any sort. It only hurt when sitting and working or driving. No pain during sex or urination. When I gently squeeze the tip of my penis, the pain subsides.
After a week of enduring this, I went to my primary. He asked a bunch of questions, but could not do anything other than suggest a urologist. Then came the Christmas holidays, and I did not want to mess with it then. Once January rolled around, the pain had gotten better. But it would still flare up now and then. Again, never any discharge, and never any pain during urination.
I just discovered that my wife had had an affair in November, and had unprotected sex twice. The man was (is) married (also about 20 years) but had an affair himself about 3 years ago. She called off the affair at the end of November. For other reasons I know this is true.
My wife and the other man have had no symptoms of any STDs or anything. My wife is a nurse and is very aware of the signs and symptoms.
If anyone cares, we are past the affair and moving on in a very good direction. 20 years of a wonderful marriage is far too valuable to throw away for such an impulsive and regrettable decision.
So 4 months later, I am still having pain in my urethra. My question is this... is there any logical way I could be suffering from an STD, considering the time frame involved, and the lack of symptoms on their part? Chlamydia has similar symptoms to what I have (pain in urethra) but it isn't supposed to last that long, and I have had zero discharge of any sort.
Any ideas? Could I have HAD an STD that has resolved itself, and now I have scars in my urethra that continue to hurt? Even during her affair my wife and I were still having sex. The longest we ever went without sex would have been 5 or 6 days.
Thank you for any direction you might be able to provide.
