If she doesn't have it and you don't have crusty type of scabies you won't transmit it.

Thanks - that's good to hear and reassuring. No, my mom doesn't show any symptoms of scabies (itching, rashes, etc.). I'll keep an eye out for her. Won't tell her about my own condition because she'll start imagining she has it.
Hi and sorry you have this. No you have to have prolonged contact to spread scabies. It is spread by sexual contact, sharing clothing, towels, bedding but if you have crusted scabies like a scab (not scally), then it is easy to spread and possible. so from your description you don't have crusts just scaly areas. A brief hug won't spread it. Does you mother look like she has symptoms. Some people in nursing home get scabies due to unclean bedding and bad nursing homes.
