thanks for the message. i been living in hell this past almost 3months now. the level of anxiety has been pretty bad in which the doctor asked my mom to take me to the hospital. i convinced my mom to opt out of this idea and then i ended up at the emergency. i don't believe i am a fragile person mentally or physically. i fought competitively in amateur boxing. i don't have fears of death or heights. prior to this experience, i believed i had no fears. then this happened to me and even though i been told its not hsv-1 i am still terrified. i am about 99% better then before. a great deal of doctors i seen were counter productive to my cause. my family doctor helped quite a bit but he's been off and on filling in at the hospital so i been seeing walk in clinics.

it ******* *****. i am twenty two years old. i never had any prior sexual activity in my life. i turned down all past opportunities. i am a advocate of my Christian, roman Catholic faith. i caved one night with my current girlfriend who performed oral sex on me. it was the most pleasurable experience of my life. this past 3months have been the worst time of my life as i guilt tripped myself based upon my actions, the rash i had had me terrified of herpes, and other sti.

my girlfriend swears to me to date that she has had sex but never performed oral sex ever on any guy. i have kissed her before and never experienced any cold sores or anything alike. i did get a lot of bad red skin from the oral sex. they assumed it was chafed skin. i got told it was skin irritation and it would pass in due time. i got told it was all in my head and that i was fine, to take anti-depressants. i recently got diagnosed as having prostitis and the doctors deemed my rash as jock itch or jock rash. the combination of multiple doctors, creams, and examinations via myself and or  doctors likely made it worse.

i am looking forward to getting clearance from my urologist specialist middle june. i am so scared. this is the first time in my life i have ever experienced fear like this. i don't know. i set a good portion of my life on living based upon strength, honor, and heroism. i can say truly that i didn't live up to this and am ashamed of my behavior. i know i'll be a stronger person when i get through all this and hope to God am well as i hope and will pray for you to be well.

my best advise is to drown and weed out any sorta of negative self talk. we all have this internal script going on in our head. a lot of times, it runs on auto pilot in which it is a source of egregious negativity. we just gotta take control of it all. i recall how many times i got down over my acid reflux or other minor illnesses in comparison to this experience and i realize i could have it much worse like this poor 15yr old wrestler in my community who was suplexed on his neck cause him to be paralyzed. i believe after this experience, we will live a new life regardless of the outcome. i wish you the best. thank you so much for your message man. i will tell you that the doctor i seen all told me that prostitis isn't based upon std however, men sometimes experience stuff after oral sex. i am not sure if this is a parallel, if the stress and or anxiety is additive to the issue or not. all the best, cheers, & god bless.

There is a small risk of gonorrhea, syphilis, and HSV-1.  However, if your partner did not have a visible cold sore, forget about it.  Half of us are immune to getting HSV-1 genitally anyway because of prior oral infections (most are acquired during early childhood and are asymptomatic).  I don't really know much about prostatitis and its relation to sexual activity though - I would see a doctor if you are concerned.
Best,
