i am so dumb.... (oringinally posted in hiv prevention)

hello everyone:

wanted to say this is an awesome web site is pretty informative and has some great members. sorry in advance for the long read...

need your advice desperately! am in thailand for holiday. over the course of 4 nights, i engaged in protected sex from 3 csws. did some research and saw that deep kissing and receiving unprotected oral sex from a csw has vanishingly low to no chances that hiv/stds are transmitted. the deep kissing and unprotected oral sex probably in total didnt exceed 1/2 hr from the 3 csws. i washed before and after sex. also urinated as well.

on the 4th night, i picked up a girl at a bar. i dont know if she was a csw/opportunist, but i did ask her how much and paid money. her hiv/std status is unknown. my judgment was clouded by alcohol. i am so dumb i wish i could smack myself silly in retrospect! :( we deep kissed and had for the most part protected oral and protected vaginal sex. however there were 2 pumps - penetrative sex (one in and one out, one in and one out) that i did without a condom. the total duration must have lasted no more than 1 to 2 minutes. further, the 2 pumps occurred midway of the vaginal sex. she did not seem very wet from the outside or inside.

in a moment of sobriety i realized what i was doing was so wrong and put on a condom, finished, waited for her to shower, said goodbye and then shower and urinated myself. the time from finishing and me shower was about 20 minutes. i am worried sick that i might have caught something. i have not eaten in the past day and feel nauseous about the whole chain of events. i feel so dumb...

the time has been less than 36 hrs since the 4th girl and i have no symptoms. i am in a state of heightened alert in my groin area and body. trying very hard, generally not to overreact from simple things that i might have dismissed normally. before holiday i was std free and i am uncircumcised. from the research i did...

a. how much risk to stds/hiv have i been exposed to?
b. should i get some pep in thailand?
c. should i get some doxy or other antibiotic for prophylactic measures?

if i get through this i swear i will be a changed man... never ever again.
again sorry for the long read, please help me..

as for the antibiotics i will wait until my clinic visit and get the whole thing done. i hope  i dont get a heart attack waiting for the results.... my gosh....

I think the main idea here is that you did have unprotected sex, even if it was brief.  There's no data that links duration of exposure to odds of contracting everything.  It probably IS lower, but you should still make sure you are fully tested.

I'm not sure about PEP but you are in better position to judge if that is a high risk exposure.  Possibly, it is, and in that case I would.

DNA based HIV tests are pretty accurate after just a few weeks and very accurate after 4, but can produce false positives.  If you ask this question to a Dr on the form, they'll suggest testing for antibodies after 3 months for HIV.  That is the most reliable and least likely to be wrong way to be tested, but of course you have to wait.  However even antibody tests are pretty accurate after 8 weeks.

If it were me, I probably would take antibiotics.  I am not sure what the Drs here would say, they might not recommend it, but I like to play things on the safe side.

If you believe it's worth testing another way is up to you.

do you think i am at an increased risk of any stds/hiv because there was potentially trapped vaginal secretions on my penis when i put the condom on?

my gosh the more i analyze/ and think about this the sicker i get...

what is the minimum time i can get an accurate hiv test..

thanks everyone..
