How reliable is HPV PCR test by a vaginal swab instead of Pap smear?

Hello everyone! I had unprotected anal sex with a very very very secually active guy 9 weeks ago. I was concerned about HPV so I went to test. The doctor took a vaginal swab ( rolled something on my vulva and vaginal wall) for the HPV by PCR test. My question is: is this reliable ? I mean, is a vaginal swab able to detect HPV ?

P.s: I don’t have any symptoms tho, nor did the guy. ( I don’t believe in symptoms tho as a way of diagnosis). He claims that he doesn’t have any STD (but I don’t believe him).

Hi its very reliable but a pap is the standard test for HPV in women as its taken from the cervix area, also you cant get hpv inside your vagina from anal sex anyway as its contracted by direct rubbing contact with hpv  to the contact area.

Thanks for your answer! So Would you regard the negative I received on the test as a conclusive accurate one ? Or shall I retest By means of a different way?
