Is Chlamydia from receiving Fillatio possible

I feel as if my stress is going to go through the roof.
I had an encounter with a professional female provider.  I am a heterosexual male.  For intercourse i always use a condom and am sure it did not break.   However, for receiving oral this time i received uncovered fillatio.  Within two weeks I started to have a burning sensation, followed by constant itching. Eventually I started to have watery discharge at 4 1/2 weeks.  I went to my doctor and he ran a gonorrhea and chlamydia test on Tuesday. I found the discharge more prominent over the next few days.  I called my doctor the following Tuesday (as he was on holiday for a few days)  he told me the results were not in yet but gave a a prescription for Suprax and 1g of azithromacin (I took them both right away), two days later my results came in and it was Chlamydia.  My symptoms have improved for about three days, shortly after the discharge started again and i began to have aches in my testicles and lower abdomin (especially after masturbation).  My doctor prescribed Ofloxicin 300g for seven days.  Symptoms went away in a couple of days, on day seven of the antibiotics i ran a half marathon.  My testicles began to hurt again for a few days so i stopped masturbating and left that part alone.  Within a week no symptoms at all.  The doctor believes i had epididymitis.  Now i can masturbate five times and feel well.  (sorry for the attention to detail)
Anyway, over this time I have done so much research on Chlamydia being contracted through oral that my head is spinning.  I am now worried that the condom for some reason didn't work during the intercourse although it didn't break. So here is my question :-)  Could i have received chlamydia from reciving oral?  There was a lot of saliva during this.  Also, what are the chances of contracting HIV?  I keep reading up about the symptoms and sometimes i think i even have them but it turns out to be something else.

Good work!  This is a good study that casts doubts on what the so called "experts" always say regarding transmission of STI's.

don't worry we are not here to judge.  Only grace can do that... justkidding.

So after reading more about you.  It is possible that you got infected with chlamydia via oral, but that's just so rare to happen.   Very rare.   I read more about false positive tests than reading about someone with oral chlamydia.

But I'm going to stick to my guns on what I've said, and seen over and over here.
The good thing now is that you have been treated for your ngu and will be better in time.

Thank you for the prompt reply.  So it is viable that this came from the oral sex as i don't recall having any condom failure.  I am 100% certain that it could not have come from my partner.  I feel a bit better knowing this thank you.
If anyone else has some input on this then please share.
Thank you again.

You must pay to post in the doctors forum, in this forum there are just a bunch of so called experts, which means we've all had some kind of issue that we've had to deal with which brought us here and we've done extensive research and try to share it with others.

Also - I'm in agreement with the doctors who say it's possible but doesn't happen often.

In addition, it looks like you have had unprotected sex, so if indeed your partner is infected unknowingly, you will become infected again and then your mystery will be solved.  That is assuming of course that you did not have sex with your regular partner before you were treated.   Otherwise I still believe that it could have been condom failure or missuse, or oral transmission.

Jessy - I do not take much stock in what Dr. HHH has to say.  I find his answers contradictory and if you read his posts dating back to 2005, he was stating that Trich was harmless and making other statements about STD's that were later found to be false once further research was conducted.  One recent example of this is when he states that M Genetalium is probably not tranmitted by oral sex, when in fact there have been many studies done that state otherwise.  I do, however, take a lot from what Dr. EWH says.  Even though it seems they are in agreement on a lot of things, his wording is different and he errors on the side of caution, which  in my opinion a good doctor should do when in doubt.  Especially when handing out advice on the internet.  Again, some people will disagree with me, but I also stated this is my "opinion".

In saying that, I will say that I respect a lot of what you post Jessy, so don't take that last paragraph the wrong way.

sorry for omitting your question.  Yes I have had unprotected sex with my partner (please do not judge) whom I am certain is very faithful.  Also the timing of the symptoms seems to fit in exactly as we haven't had sex for weeks before the encounter with the professional.

It is confusing.  Some doctors say it happens (just not frequently) and some say it is not possible.  Are there any members on this site that have received Chlamydia through oral?
I truly appreciate the feedback and respect the difference of opinions, although i prefer to hear that it can happen :-)
I dont mean to offend anyone but is there a doctor here that could ease my nerves?

Hello

Shaken2core:
As you anticipated; many on the forum will disagree with what you said. I am one of them.   Below is what I disagree with.

overanalyzing101:
You asked, "Could i have received chlamydia from reciving oral?"
NO.  Not from the encounter you describe.

Its very hard to get chlamydia from oral sex; as why kdaily asked if you had sex within the last year.  We suspect your infection originated elsewhere and NOT from the encounter you describe.

Finally, "Incidences of infection after an encounter, even when protected, seem to be high"  is NOT true.   Dr HHH and EWH, have said the opposite of this.

Just remember that condoms are not 100% effective, but they are very effective.  There was a another guy on this forum who got a ureaplasma infection after a protected encounter.  There are also a whole host of other people who have been to this forum or are still here who have been infected after protected encounters, or infected with things that were not thought possible through oral sex.  The one common denomenator is all of them saw some kind of sex worker or was at a massage parlor.

I guess you're lucky that you're cured and done with this episode, and the important thing for you to take away from this incident, and any others who might be reading this, is to stay away from sex workers and massage parlors that offer happy endings.  Incidences of infection after an encounter, even when protected, seem to be high.  I'm sure many on this forum will disagree with that statement, but that's my opinion, that's based on reading through this forum and many others, as well as correspondence with many members.

To answer your questions:  Yes, chlamydia could be contracted during oral.  It's extremely rare, therefore it's discounted as a mode of transmission.  Could your codom had failed?  Again, yes, it could have.  How you contracted this will always remain a mystery.
