Possible to go on without any STD symptoms for 2+ years ?

So I’ve been with my boyfriend officially for one year. We were sexual partners for two years prior, but were not exclusive. Within that time frame I had a few sexual encounters. The first year I had gotten my first STD test and was cleared. But for the past two years I have not gone back to the doctor. I recently went in for my annual check up & my gynocologist asked if I wanted to have a screening for STDS & that it was completely optional. I agree, & at this point in time I’m only waiting for my results.

So my questions are:
1. Is it possible for me to go on 2+ years without any sort of STD symptoms whatsoever ?

I’ve read a lot into people being asymptomatic, but can one really go on without any sort of sign ?

2. Is it very common to be asymptomatic ?

This must be a little long to read, but I’m just concerned for myself & my partner. I just wanted another person’s perspective. I overthink a lot.
