Unprotected oral sex from prostitute

Hi all,

So I've read a little on this site but I still need some clarification. I am married and unfortunately had unprotected oral sex from a sex worker today. The encounter lasted approximately 30 seconds and ended with me ejacualting in her mouth.

It is important to note that I have gential psoriasis which means I have some blisters and sores on my penis. My main questions are as follows:

1. What are the chances of me contracting an STI from this encounter?

2. How soon would symptoms appear (if any) if I were to have contracted something?

3. How soon would an infection show up on tests at a clinic?

4. Should I self medicate for the common STI's immediately just in case?

5. How long should I refrain from sexual intercourse with my wife in fear of passing something on to her if I have contracted something?

Sorry for all the questions but this stupid mistake has really got me stressed. Your help and support is much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi NewYorker. If it helps I had the exact same exposure as you. Around the 10th day I started feeling this crazy burn in my urethra. No discharge and not while urinating. Just random specially in the night and an incredible urge to urinate. I was convinced I had gon clam or ngu. Got tested 14 days past exposure all negative. Also tested for syphilis and hiv negative too and repeated these last 2 at 4 weeks. Negative again. Thr burning and urge magically dissappeared after he negative tests. I recommend you look for genitally focused anxiety. It exists!!!! If you want someone to talk to feel free to write. Hopes this helps and wish you well. All will be fine

Yes as I said.

I can't answer the 2nd question as why tests are a good idea. And I can't speculate what you had before.

NGU is basically harmless for most people, more of an annoyance but like any STD it can be transmitted.

Thank you vance for your reply. I know you had testing time as 5 days for gonorrhoea and chlamydia but the clinic said it can take up to 14 days to get an accurate result. Would you say testing today (day 8) is reliable enough?

I still have a little bit of discharge shortly after urinating and when I massage it out so to speak. It's clear in colour and looks a bit like pre-ejaculate. If it's not NGU, why the soreness at the tip along with increased frequency of urination and a little bit of stinging? I also never feel like the urethra is completely empty after urinating.

I'm asking whether or not I may have had this infection from before and only just manifested now - hence the possibility of passing to my wife. If it is NGU, can I transmit to my wife via intercourse?

Thank you so much

Gave you the time frame when to test earlier. No does not sound like NGU from just one episode of discharge.

If you have not had sex how can you pass anything on to her?

Hi all,

So on day 6 after exposure, I started to notice some discharge during the day. It was white and sticky and a bit random. I had a wet dream the night before so not sure if it was just residual ejaculate in my urethra. It is now day 8 and the discharge has reduced drastically and only see some a few minutes after urinating. However I have a constant irritating feeling/soreness at the end of my penis and increases need to urinate. Also when I do urinate, it is slightly difficult and stings a little bit.

I assumed these were classic symptoms of NGU and so went to the clinic today. Under the microscope, they said they couldn't see any signs of inflammation from the swab. They also said that it may still be too early to detect anything as gonorrhoea and chlamydia can take up to 14 days to be detected. They refused to give me any medication for my symptoms and told me to wait.

Do you think these symptoms are related to my episode of unprotected oral sex? Does this sound like NGU? If they can't find the specific organism or bacteria when I next get tested, can they still give me treatment to treat whatever is causing this soreness? Is it likely I have passed this on to my wife (we have not had sex since this episode) and if so, does she need to be tested/treated?

I am so depressed at the moment, I just don't know what to do. I really hope someone can help

Bumps are actually on my penis though? I assume from your response you don't seem concerned?

Hi,

So it's been 48 hours since my encounter, I now have an extremely sore throat and a slight fever. No pain on urination or increased frequency. I think there may be a little abnormal discharge but not sure if this is just my mind playing tricks on me. Is the sore throat indicative of an STI? Also noticing some bumps/blisters on my penis. I have had sores before due to psoriasis but one new bump looks a bit different. Please advise

Thanks

It is low risk but still possible. I gave you testing time, not repeating myself. the risk to get something and pass it on from 1 times sex is low but possible.

Thank you vance. So wait 5 days and get tested? If I have gonorrhea, that would show up by then. What about chlamydia? I am so angry at myself - I generally thought unprotected oral sex was very low risk and the contact time was very short. If I have caught something and have sex before I get tested, is it likely I will pass on to my wife?

I would test just because you are married.
Gonorrhea-5 days
Syphilis-6 weeks (this is very unlikely)
Herpes-3 months

Thanks for your reply Vance. I'm so stressed at the moment. What are the chances of me having caught something? Do you think I should get tested or is there no need?

The problem is my wife is ovulating at the moment and she is desperate for a baby. I don't know how I can say no to her. Please help!
