I'm not an expert on other infections, but generally speaking, the incubation period (the time from infection to symptoms) isn't as fast as you saw symptoms. The incubation period for strep throat is 2-5 days, for example. It's at least 24 hours for a cold, usually up to 72 hrs.
Can you get bottled water? Juice? Sports drinks? Can you get a water pitcher with a filter? There are ways to stay hydrated. Avoid caffeine and alcohol, at least until you're hydrated. Both are very dehydrating.
STDs aren't transmitted by saliva, so that's not a concern, virus or bacteria.
I honestly don't know if anyone has studied germs in saliva on a body, and how long the rhinovirus or rotovirus or other things would live that way. That seems like it would have a lot of variables - room temp, activity, sweat, body temp, clothing, etc. I can't imagine anything could live long like that.
Thank you. Yes maybe I was freaking out a bit on that, but I will still visit a doctor to get it checked, just to be sure.
My water intake is actually way to low atm, because I am living i a foreign country for a month now and the tap water is full of chlorine so I drink less.
But would a virus also die if the salvia was already dry? I mean it doesn't have to be a STD, maybe it could be something else as well.
No, you can't get an STD that way.
If the saliva was dried, that means the bacteria died.
Also, no STD would give you symptoms that fast. Symptoms of an STD would take 2 days at the very minimum to show up, usually longer.
If you still have burning when you pee, get that checked. You could have an STD from a previous encounter, or perhaps you have irritation from alcohol since you were drunk. How's your water intake? Try increasing your water intake and make sure you aren't dehydrated.
I mean I know that you cant get an STD just from touching their skin, but my fear is that some people before me already did something similar with her and I got it from one of them basically. Can those bacteria or virus even survive on the skin if they were in the dried salvia?
