Herpes or yeast infection?

I had protected sex then a day or two later I started getting symptoms of a yeast infection. I tried a couple over the counter medications for yeast infections but they really didnt seem to help. I contacted my doctor this past Thursday and she sent a prescription in. After taking the first pill the swelling and everything went away, but now I have found a small sore like area. I have no blister like bumps anywhere else nor did any pop up. I took the second pill that was prescribed today and the sore like area seems to be getting a little better. I applied some a&d ointment to the spot and it also seems like it has helped it. I'm not sure what is going on. Opinions please!
