I think I have symptoms of an STD what should I do?

I had sex 4 days ago and I think I am having symptoms for either Chlamydia or gohnorria. Cramps and discharge (more than usual) 2 day after sex and still continuing.

I have already set an appointment to get tested in a months time, as I know that the test could be false negative if I test sooner than that.

I could go to the doctor and from my explanation of the symptoms they would prescribe me antibotics for one of the STDs.

But my issue with that is lets say they give me an antibiotics for Chlamydia, I have to wait a month after taking the antibiotic to get tested again, and if it turns out I have ghonerrea instead, I will have wasted that time and antibiotic on something I ddin't have or vise versa.

So thats why I was thinking just wait it out a month, get tested to know for sure and that way I will get the right antibiotics the first time around.

But as I feel I am having symptoms, I'm not sure what the best thing to do is..

Thank you!

Whether or not this is a yeast infection, BV, or something else, you need to go and be seen by your doctor and be evaluated.  Heavy discharge and cramps and abdominal pain are not normal, but this could be unrelated to your sexual exposure.  The only way to be sure is to be seen.

Don't worry about receiving the incorrect antibiotics.  Any good doctor would treat you for both gonocal  and chlamydiae infections if they had reason to be believe you were exposed.

I also developed a fever 3 days after sex, could that be possible hiv/syphilis or is it too soon to be able to get symptoms for those stds?

Thank you

Okay thank you ! I was just not familiar with the cramps being a symptom of a yeast infection but I guess it varies from person to person

I would guess a yeast infection at this point and not so much of an STD.

Also, wondering if i might have a yeast infection/uti instead, as the symptoms of burning, cramps and discharge appeared quickly.

Should I just buy monistat and if the symptoms dont lessen, move on to see if its UTI / an STD?

At this point it has been 3 days but I started feeling it on day 2. And at this point I can definitely tell something is going on, I feel slight burning, and feel this discomfort that I am not used to at all kind of like im wet but im not.. and this abdominal lower pain like cramps that is constant.

Yes its white. Not clear.

Well, it was with a condom the whole time but silly me at one point we didnt have it on for a about 8-10 seconds? and I did oral. Sorry if tmi.

Also feeling tired.

I have unfortunately had Chlamydia before which I didnt really have symptoms then, only 1 day did I feel the symptoms, and it felt similar to this.

But I don't want to assume anything.

I just want to know thoughts on whether I should go to the doc and they possibly prescribe me the wrong antibiotic so the std doesnt get cured during all of that time and have to go back which will take another week and then another week for the results..

or just try to wait it out for a month and go an get tested and get the actual results ?

The symptoms aren't unbarable.. but I feel it all of the time.

thank you!

What was the sex and with a condom? Is the discharge white as is it coming from your urethra? Symptoms of these most often show up in about 4 or 5 days not 2 as need time to mulitply and cause an infection discharge.
