Not sure what to think...

About 2 weeks ago, I noticed what looked like an ingrown hair at the base of my penis.  Then, a couple of days later, I noticed a small, painless sore in the same area.  They both healed within a matter of days.  I went to the doctor and I had a blood sample to be taken for Herpes type 1 & 2, syphillis and HIV.

Last night, I noticed a slight burning sensation at the opening of my urethra.  When I woke up this morning, the pain was gone, but then it came back this afternoon.  I went to the doctor again and did a urine sample.  The urine sample didn't show any bacteria related to a urinary tract infection, but the doctor said that this didn't mean that it rules out a urinary tract infection.  I am on antibiotics now.  I had the urine sample sent to test for chlamydia and gonorrhea. (I haven't received any results yet from any of the test).

I have been with the same sexual partner for over 18 months.  During that time, I took an HIV test which came back negative.  The ONLY other sexual partner I've had was approx. 2 years ago.  My question is, is it possible to be completely void of symptoms for any of these diseases for such a long time? As far as I understand, if any symptoms do show up, they do so in a matter of months.

All my tests came back negative.  It seems that I had a UTI and an overactive imagination...

They healed in about 2-3 days.

My guess is that this isn't an std, and is probably a UTI or something.  You aren't at big risk for stds, given your sexual history.

All you can do now is wait for the results to come back.

When you say they were gone in a matter of days, how many days?
