Sti from wet used underwear

My partner masturbated in dirty underwear and contracted chlamydia. I cant find any supporting info on line that says this is possible. I have now 13 months later tested positive for herpes as well. I only been intimate with him for 15 years. He is adamant that thats all he has done. I dont believe him. Can anyone tell me if there is even a slight possibility chlamydia and herpes can be passed this way.

I would seriously, seriously doubt this story.

In order for this to happen, the underwear would have to have wet discharge on it - once it's dry, the bacteria would die. In addition, that bacteria would have to align perfectly with his urethra in order to enter it.

And where did he get this dirty underwear?

For herpes, pretty much the same, except that the person who had worn the underwear would have to have herpes AND chlamydia, would have to have had either a herpes outbreak or had viral shedding, and somehow, all of that survived the air, and perfectly aligned with his skin and urethra to create the perfect storm of infection. There'd also have to be enough bacteria (chlamydia) and enough virus (herpes) surviving the air, the friction, etc., to be able to infect him.

If it were my partner, I'd call it a big fat lie from a big fat liar who lies. That's just me, though.

How did you test for herpes? Did you get a type specific IgG blood test? Make sure it is a type specific test, and not one that gives you one result for both types. (This is not for his benefit, but for yours.) You may have hsv1, which could have been an infection you acquired as a child or something, and not a genital infection.

This is not to alleviate his big lie, but to make sure you are aware of what you may or may not have.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this. :(

It is hsv 2. I have had hsv 1 since i was a teen. He says some tourists who were staying in the yard at our workshop while their car was fixed got changed in front of him then went out so he got horny and found the underwear. I can't help but believe they paid him with sex rather than money.
Wow, that's quite a story. I'm really sorry, but if it were my partner, I'd have a really, really hard time believing that.

Scientifically, it doesn't make sense, and logically, it doesn't either.

I've heard a LOT of stories, both here and while working in an STD clinic. This ranks up there with one of the most hard to believe for me. If it's them he had sex with, then he's taking sex for favors, or he just went out and had sex with someone else. I'd have to wonder if this is the first time it's happened. Is it possible he's using these tourists as an excuse and instead, it was with another person? More than one person just the one time?

It IS possible that he had hsv2 prior to your relationship and never knew it, but not chlamydia. It's also strange that you'd suddenly be diagnosed with both at the same time. I'm assuming you've been tested for other things, including HIV, syphilis and Hep B?

Again, I'm so sorry about this.

Sorry but i call liar liar pants on fire here.Chlamydia is an intracelular organism with two forms, infections extraceluar reticulate body and the intracelular  one, and it is very fragile if it dries it dies, not to mention the fact that in order for an infection to happen the reticulate bodies and i mean a large amount of them would have to come in contact with the epithelial cells of the urethra, so the possibility for contracting as you describe it it is very very low, id say impossible. That being said, please if you haven't already make a full panel testing so that you have piece of mind.
So he tested negative and is now convinced I have slept around. I haven't been with anyone else. I am waiting for my HIV and other test results.
Did you see those results from when he tested?

What kind of testing did you have? What kind of testing did he have? I'd ask to see the original results, or go with him to his doctor's to get a copy.
