Also worried about bikini waxing

Sorry if this is an old question, or if I sound too uninformed and sorry for my bad English:
I just got a bikini wax for the first time, and they didn't change their Spatula-which was made of metal if that helps- I know I should have been more careful(long story). The only thing that kinda comforts me is that it seems like I was their first client today. I saw on tv that you can get STD from bikini waxing. I read here that you can't. any way, what I'm asking is can you get ANY sort of disease, infection, etc from waxing which is not curable?  and how long can the germs or micro-whatevers actually stay on that spatula? My friend told me to wash the area thoroughly, I doubt if that's effective at all.
Should I consult a doctor? What are some signs I should be looking for? And also Im a teenager, so should I tell my mom about it?
thanks for the time

You can't get an STD from bikini waxing.  You can only get an STD through sexual contact, despite what you heard on television.  However, it's possible you could get an infection if the "spatula" they are using isn't cleaned properly before you get the waxing done - again, not an STD, but just a "general" infection from unclean equipment.  Hope this helps.
Best,
Em
