Hi grace
Thank you for getting back to me. As you can sense, i have been feeling guilty and started to worry about all outcomes. This oral experience only lasted 25/30 seconds tops!
Over the last 8 weeks since completing the doxycycline i have had sex with my gf on many occasions. I appreciate the chances are very low but if i did intially infect her before taking the doxycycline, would i have reinfected myself over the last 8 weeks?
the reason i ask this question is because i tested negative a few days ago. I want to be sure my gf is also negative for her safety.
This is my final question and i would appreciate your comments.
The odds of you contracting a std from this experience are rather low. The odds that you'd have been infected with gonorrhea, infected your gf and now have it back and neither of you have any symptoms whatsoever are too low to even waste time thinking about.
This is guilt fueling these worries - don't be your own worse enemy!
grace
Vance, i appreciate your comments but can you please explain because 'probabily' or 'she could have been' means nothing to someone who doesnt understand and no what you know.
Im a chemical engineer and would always explain my answers clearly to non understanders, in this case myself.
Can you please elobarate on my two questions please. My main concern is passing an infection, curing it with doxcycline and testing negative whilst my partner is positive. As highlighted, its been 8 weeks since i finished doxycycline, would i have reinfected myself and tested positive in this case.
Please advise
Hi Vance,
Can you elaborate on point 2 - She could have been infected and you not get reinfected.
Knowing what you know, in this situation is this common or rare, I would like to know as I am not a medical expert. I have received too much mixed information regarding this matter.
Can you please advise.
1. Probably
2. She could have been infected and you not get reinfected.
90+% of men show symptoms, that is why I would not worry.
I have read it can be asymptomatic so was slightly worried. Can you answer my two questions below please for my piece of mind:
1. This may be a very naïve question but I assume that if I am negative my girlfriend is also negative?
2. Is there any way I could have infected my girlfriend before taking the doxycycline and then tested negative or would I have re-infected myself over the last 8 weeks?
I would not worry abotu getting gonorrhea, you would have had symptoms.
