No gonorrhea or chlamydia, but still symptoms

About 12 days ago I had an oral encounter with a stranger. Three days later I started to feel a little discomfort when urinating. A week ago I started having discharge. Mostly clear. I decided to get testing done, So I signed up for an online service. In the interim, yesterday morning I had more pus colored discharge. I decided to be proactive and went and got treatment for gonorrhea. I was given 2g arithromycin.

1) today the chlamydia and gonorrhea test came back negative. Is it possible that I had a false negative because I had taken some standard antibiotics for a cold a couple days earlier?

2) if the chlamydia and gonorrhea test was accurate, what other condition could this be? I never have discharge before this so it seems bizarre. And if it is something else, would the medication I was prescribed cure that as well?

I have follow up with the clinic in 10 days to make sure all is well, but wanted to put my mind at ease before then. Hoping I could get some answers. Thank you.

Hi, most doctors concur that Chlamydia cannot be in the throat only gono but if you had gono your discharge would have been a lot of white puss and bad burning while urinating.
From your mild symptoms it would appear you contracted a simple UTI from the oral which can be easily cured with antibiotics. Most often with a clear discharge is a sign that some urethra irritation did occur and maybe from a UTI and is produced as a soothing mucus clear discharge to sooth the area.

Also just to provide you with more info my only symptoms are the ones I've listed: discomfort when urinating, urethral discomfort, clear discharge, and a very small amount of pus colored discharge
