Are you having sex with someone other than your wife? I have already told you that you and your wife are fine to have sex. You both already have it, and can't reinfect each other.
If you are having sex with someone else, you count from the time you first got the warts, just to be sure. The longer you go without warts, the more likely it is that you are not infectious. Use condoms with other people, though, because there are other STDs to be concerned with. If you aren't having sex with anyone else, you can't give it to them. It is only contagious by sex.
After you clear the virus, you can do whatever you want. You no longer have it. It's like getting over a cold - it's gone, and you can't give it to anyone else. It just takes longer than a cold. If you have sex with other people, though, after clearing the virus, you can get it again. You could get different strains, or the same ones you've already had.
The only reason I answered this is because you asked about other people. Everything else I've already answered.
