I'm a married guy of 60. I had a sexual encounter with an escort yesterday, which involved some fairly brief unprotected oral both ways (maybe a minute or two in total). I hadn't planned to have any unprotected sex, just got carried away, so now I'm worried about STIs, especially gonorrhea and chlamydia. To complicated things,my wife and I are going away on holiday in just over a week, so I can't wait 14 days for tests as the providers here recommend, unless I get symptoms before then. Clearly, if I did get symptoms I'd get tested and prescribed treatment ASAP but if I don't in a few days time, should I get tested anyway - as quite alot of info I've seen (including on this site) suggests both STIs will generally show as positive on tests within 5 or 6 days?
My anxiety levels aren't help by the very different stories I see about risks of oral sex, especially for gonorrhea and chlamydia, with some seemingly authoritative sites saying it is generally a good deal less than for vaginal sex, while others say it is exactly the same. Does anyone know what the best evidence suggests? I'd add the the sex worker was a high-end escort who I know does have regular sexual health screening and claims never to have had an infection.
Thanks!
