Unprotected oral from masseuse

Hi there, I never ever do this but on Dec 5 I was on an overseas work trip and succumbed to a happy ending during a massage.

I received unprotected oral for about 2-3 min and finished with a handjob with the masseuse fully naked and sitting on me with her back facing me.

Since then, I haven’t had discharge, painful urination or sores. Two weeks after the exposure I had some redness on my foreskin and went to a doctor but was told it was balanitis and he gave me a cream.

Recently, I have been having tenderness/aching in my right testicle.

Here are my questions:

1) what are the chances I could have an STI but have no discharge, painful urination, sores but have testicular aching or tenderness?

2) if I have an STI, will my lack of symptoms slowly result in symptoms coming later (asymptomatic to symptomatic)

I have been feeling really anxious about it and replaying the exposure over and over again in my head and I’d really appreciate some advice here :) thank you!

Oral sex is lower risk than vaginal or anal, but you can still get gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis or genital herpes type 1 (if you don't already have oral herpes type 1).

Syphilis and herpes wouldn't give you sore testicles, so don't worry about those.

Gonorrhea and chlamydia could. Have you tested for those?

Since it's concerning you so much, why not just test and put it behind you?

Thank you for your advice :)

I haven’t tested for those because I didn’t get painful urination or discharge, and having read many posts on here the past weeks it seems the common advice is to test only when symptoms appear as this kind of one time exposure is considered to not warrant testing according to experts..

But in the past week the testicles starting to ache and it’s been worrying me again.

From your experience, is it common for people to have only aching testicles as a symptom or is it more often accompanied by discharge and painful urination?

Appreciate your advice!
It's most common to not get any symptom, but you can't diagnose on symptoms alone.

You had a risk, even though it's not high. If you are concerned you should test.
I think I will test :)

Just a last question - do you think my concern is warranted or is it more of testing so that I can move on from this mistake?
I'm advising you to test only so you can move on from this issue. Most experts think that one oral sex encounter is low risk enough that it doesn't warrant testing, but you seem to be worried about it, so test, and put it behind you.
Hi, I did a urine test and it was negative for gono and chlamydia.

Also did a microscopic test and no white blood cells were present.

However doctor said there is a possibility of the bacteria causing a mild infection that may not show up on the urine test which could explain my tenderness or ache in my right testicle.

I’m worried because of what he said, can I move in from this having gotten negative for both G and C or is there still cause for concern?
If there is bacteria present, it's not an STD. Did he do a urine culture where he sends your urine to a lab?

If you are still having symptoms, continue to work with your doctor, but it's not related to the encounter you describe.
Yes he did a urine culture and stated that there was no bacteria growth. Thank you for your advice again and I’m just hoping to move on from this encounter
You're welcome. :)
