Thank you very much that answer was very informative
Syphilis bacterial usually have to be massaged into the tissues for infection to take; superficial contact usually isn't sufficient. Therefore, syphilis chancres occur predominantly at the sites that receive maximum friction during sex -- the head of the penis, labia minor or vaginal opening in women, etc. The thigh is very atypical. And your description doesn't sound like a chancre.
As Vance said, you'll never get a clear understanding by anything anyone can say on a community forum. If you remain concerned, get professional attention. If it's been 6 weeks or more since this started, a blood test will be reliable. In the meantime, there's really no point in continuing this discussion. We can't help more than we have.
Well just to clarify my risk assessment. I had a lesion on my inner thigh as described above. Firstly is it possible to get these on your inner thigh/ groin and secondly does the lesion resemble a chancre? Then I can weigh up my risk. Thanks
This forum is to help with risk assestment.
But you want me to some how match up a description of something and tell you if it sounds like syphilis. It is almost impossible to do that. We are here to help but we can't provide you with the world.
I have had a test. Waiting on results. Would have been nice to get some reassurance from somewhere. That's what I thought this forum was about.
Again it is impossible to say. See a Dr if concerned.
But does the description match that of a chancre or can chancres take on different looks from person to person and be different in appearance?
Impossible to say what it does or does not sound like.
Does the lesion/mark Sound like a chancre? It didn't weep or burst or anything. Was flat all over and had like peeled skin sorta look to it. Lasted over 3 weeks which was the worry an then got a rash 3 weeks later which planted the seed of doubt..
