support/prevention

Hi

I am looking to start a new relationship with a lad I met online, I am gay and I dont know his past so am remaining as safe as I can be in every way. I havent had much experience.

I am practising safe sex, deep kissing and mutual masturbation only until I know him better. Couple of questions that I am having trouble understanding. I realise there is no issue with mutual masturbation as even if I get semen on my hands theres no risk of hiv or stds as nothing penetrates the skin even with cuts etc as from reading this site tells me.

My query relates to kissing, is kissing a way of transmitting an STD? I have read online that sometime it is and it isnt, I am having trouble understanding oral - does this mean mouth to mouth or mouth to genitals.

From what I have read is catching an STD from oral where it is mouth to genitals and that mouth to mouth is not a risk.

Before I move on further with any other form of sex I intend to say we both need to test even for oral sex.

Am I doing things right, some assurance is appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Gav

No kissing is not going to transmit a STD.

Yes you are doing things right. Test before having unprotected sex or use condoms all the time.
